I’m back. For now. This summer has been crazy in between adult summer camp, Mexico, falling in love with freezing my face… I decided to throw another spontaneous trip in the mix. This one would take me to Palm Springs, California.
I’ve been to Palm Springs quite a few times, my family used to have a home there where we would run to escape Edmonton weather. This trip I decided to take a little bit of time to find some of the city? town? area’s…. best spots to check out if you are ever near by,
I stayed two nights at Riviera Palm Springs. The decor was cool and bright which made it the perfect back drop for photos. I went in on a Sunday and the party was still going strong pool side… where I watched from the gym, of course.
In between the crazy shopping which can be found at Desert Hills Premium Outlets, I ate a ton of Mexican food. My mom and I were in PS for 7 days and I think we had Mexican for 3 of them. No complaints here.
Palm Springs is slow and there isn’t a TON to do but that’s kinda what makes it so perfect. We honestly had so much fun driving around aimlessly, AC cranked listening to Wild Thoughts. Can it get any better? The aesthetic of downtown Palm Springs is perfect for taking photos or not. Whatever your style may be, trust me you will love PS even in the 40+ weather.
I spent a good half of the day at The Avalon Hotel, which is right off the strip and kinda low key. The Avalon Hotel Palm Springs is gorgeous for a day trip.. and I chose to shoot there with a local photographer knowing very well that it would go off smashingly.
The place is chic and subtle like they are trying but not TOO hard…basically how I try to come across 97% of the time but only manage for 3. BOO
I started my day off with a facial at Estrella Spa. I honestly don’t know what happened. I used to HATE facials but lately, I am so hooked… they are perfect after a dehydrating flight and get that glow going for special occasions. The spa is small and quaint and I loved doing my hair with a glass of bubbly after the treatment.
Lunch was poolside at Chi Chi’s, where I enjoyed the Waygu beef wraps with a glass of rose. As I write this I can still remember how orgasmic they were… I’m not exaggerating they were bliss.
If and when you go to Palm Springs remember two things. Mexican food at least 3x and fitting in a day at The Avalon. Oh and your camera. Palm Springs is too perfect not to capture.
I’m off to pack for DC… or not. Still deciding xx
